Hello!
Two weeks today until my boyfriend Dylan and I fly out to Nepal for our Voluntears trip on July 20th… it’s coming round quickly!
Change in destination
If you’ve been following us on social media, you may have noticed we were originally going to Sri Lanka, but due to what happened at Easter – Voluntears redirected the trip to Nepal following the FCO’s advice, which is a relief, as we would’ve had to cancel altogether.
What we’re doing in Nepal
During our two weeks in Nepal, we’ll be renovating and decorating the deaf school, participating in cultural activities with the students over 6 days of the trip, as well as getting a taste of the local area, culture and sights, with a possible trek up into the Himalayan Mountains!
We love giving back to the community, and with hearing losses ourselves, volunteering in a deaf school means a lot to us.
Our Fundraising Journey
It’s been a long year coming to this, so much preparation – not to mention the number of injections, insurance, exercise, long kit lists… I hope it’s worth the stress!
We did our sponsored walk – 26 miles in one day!
Dylan completed a very painful leg wax!
I’ve been doing fete, carboot stalls and other little projects to raise as much as we can.
We are close to reaching our fundraising target, so any donations would be HUGELY appreciated to help fund our trip of a lifetime! (link below)
