Hi,

Did you know? I used to play the clarinet when I was younger?

For those who don’t know, it’s a woodwind instrument and looks like this!

I bet you’re wondering… how can a deaf person play a musical instrument?

Music isn’t the easiest thing for people with hearing loss to access, but there are ways around it!

There are many D/deaf musicians; Dame Evelyn Glennie (percussionist), Beethoven (composer)… more recently; Sean Forbes (rap artist), Mandy Harvey (singer) just to name a few!

I wrote a blog for Hearing Like Me, with some tips to share! Not just for children, but adults too!

‘Can my child learn to play a musical instrument with their hearing loss?’

The answer is… yes! Never let your hearing loss stand in the way of achieving your dreams!

I hope you enjoyed reading!

Love E x
