Concentration fatigue in deaf people, particularly children... it’s a thing! It’s not talked about as often as it should be. • Communication is 10 times harder for deaf people. We have to focus on what’s being said, piece clues together, focus on body language, just to try and understand what someone’s saying. As a result = tiredness, headaches, frustration, giving up. This can be confused with laziness, ignorance or rudeness. • Things can be put in place to make situations easier for deaf people. Let us have some time out, regular breaks, if we don’t understand something, please repeat or write it down. Ask us if we’re okay, please don’t give up on us, we can succeed, given the right support. • I wrote a couple of blogs if anyone wants to share them! #SubtitledCinema Campaign update: Another productive meeting with the @uk_cinema_association and representatives from the main cinema chains. @deafgirly and I gave our presentation for more #subtitledcinema showings, along with the videos and photos from our supporters! • We’re pleased that they will take our case back to their managers for further discussion, as to how they may be able to increase provision. We have another meeting planned for February. • Although I was ill and the meeting quite nerve-wracking, boardroom style, I pulled through and did it for all my followers!
